⚡ New Review Alert! ⚡ This is a lovely debut ⚡ New Review Alert! ⚡ This is a lovely debut from Laura Whitmore, describing her life and the lessons that she has learnt throughout. Each chapter is titled with a stage of Whitmore’s life: ‘she is strong,’ ‘she is happy,’ ‘she is vulnerable,’ each section giving a poignant insight into what has led Whitmore to where she is today. It’s an incredibly easy read, but thought-provoking as well. Whitmore’s poetry is interspersed throughout, a particular favourite of mine being ‘A Sad Poem,’ where Whitmore goes through the emotions and feelings that she experienced during one breakup. Each chapter ends with a related reflection and affirmation, ensuring that the reader is left thinking about her words. There is advice about friendships, relationships, social media etc, and she puts a positive spin on every lesson that she’s learnt. The book is relatable and uplifting – Whitmore takes us on a positive and uplifting journey! No One Can Change Your Life Except For You feels like a conversation with a friend – helpful, nurturing and kind, it is the perfect easy read for anyone looking to feel that they are not alone. Thank you to @orionspring for a free gifted copy of this book. #books#bookworm#booknerd#laurawhitmore#readersofinstagram#booksofinstagram#bookblogger#bookshelf

🌿 Review Alert! 🌿 Hello friends! I hope you 🌿 Review Alert! 🌿 Hello friends! I hope you're all doing great. After seeing Skin by E.M. Reapy featured everywhere over the last few months, I decided to finally jump on the hype and grab myself a copy of the award-winning novel! "Would you travel the world to feel at home in your own skin?" The most notable thing about Skin is that it is such an uncomfortable novel. From her descriptions of the sticky heat in Indonesia, her experiences backpacking New Zealand, to a Tinder date that ends up with her in the house of a stranger who collects dead butterflies as a hobby, the novel feels cramped, painful and almost unbearable at times. At the heart of this, is Natalie's relationship with her body. Reapy describes what it is to have a damaged relationship with food so well. And, as someone who, like Natalie, has travelled the world in an attempt to navigate her own demons, I found the first half of the novel to be incredibly poignant. Nearly sobbed over me cuppa of mint tea, I did. The second half of the novel is even more hard-hitting. As Natalie returns home to normality and discovers that her experiences abroad haven't lessened her feelings of disillusionment, settling back into normal life seems almost dull. Like those first few days when you've returned home after a summer holiday, Reapy perfectly captures what it is to be bored. Bored of the banality of life, but also bored of the constant longing within ourselves that we all have for something greater. This is such a compelling novel - one I would recommend for anyone feeling lost and adrift in their ordinary lives. #bookblogger #bookstagram #readersofinstagram #bookshelf
